Camelo's by the freeway
I was approached by the talented musician Josh Short after we had met each other at the QEGS Band/Orchestra to produce a remote Jazz music video for his group of talented musicians. He had also previously witnessed my film montage work at a film music orchestra concert. This took a month from start to finish to turn around due to the amount of technical revisions which were required to improve the challenging syncing to a professional and seamless standard.
This also involved creative picture in picture composition and cutting to create an enjoyable and entertaining visual viewing experience.
myforte choir
I was approached with a commission to edit a twenty four person remote choir cover performance video during lockdown. Syncing the vocal performances and cutting appropriately with professional standard composition developed an even deeper attention to detail. Not only this but technical issues meant that my adaptability as an editor dramatically improved.
jjj horns
The JJJ horns approached me to assist them in creating a visual version of their jazz remix. They were entering into a competition in which their video was shared by the original band. Working with a friendly, creative and personal client helped me to develop my communication skills and professional workflow.
The QEGS orchestra film concert
I was commissioned by the Head of the Music Department to develop montage videos from films which matched the pacing of the soundtracks which the orchestra where playing. We would then rehearse to these videos and create a timed performance with bar numbers marking different sections of the montages and the conductor pressing a tablet to keep the videos in time with the live musical performance. This required a great deal of planning and collaboration to create and it came together beautifully for a brilliant musical and visual experience. I am also in the editing process of editing a live performance of the QEGS musical performance which sadly could not be shown to a live audience due to the COVID pandemic.
